An Official Statement on the TimePassages 3.0 Mobile App Launch and Server Issues

CURRENT UPDATE 12/04/24


Daily Horoscope “Network Error 5” or “Creating Horoscope” Messages:  Version 3.0.6 with bug fixes to the Daily Horoscope and many others is now available in the App Store!


Free and Legacy TimePassages iPhone App Users:

The latest update 3.0.6 is now available from the App Store. If you don’t have your auto-update on, please update to the latest version. We’re still working on a fix for syncing your charts.


3.0.6 fixes include:

  • Fix for newly created Transit charts always using the time of its creation.
  • Bug fixes for horoscopes.
  • Bug fixes to the atlas
    • Fix for Windsor, Ontario
  • Current Transits bug fix: show short-term and long-term transits
  • fix for typos in info pop up in charts list view

For iPhone users experiencing login issues: 

You don't have an account with us because the old iPhone TimePassages apps didn't require you to create one. When you go through the onboarding, you will create an account with a password and email of your choice.


Legacy Pro iPhone App Users:

We hope to have an update for you soon. Please do not delete your app even if you see that 3.0 is available in the app store. Once we release an update for you to migrate, you can sync your charts and then download the 3.0 app. Scroll down for further details on the migration process. Thank you so much for your patience!


Android App Users:

You all should have access now to the 3.0 app in the Google Play Store! Enjoy!

Dear TimePassages Community,


We want to take the time to communicate clearly and in-depth about what's happening with our mobile app so you can be fully informed. The massive response to our new mobile app has been humbling, and it’s clear how much you care about TimePassages. We’ve seen how much the past few days have impacted you, and we hear you. We know that changing the app that many of you have used for years is a big deal, and you may be experiencing disappointment or frustration—please know we’re dedicated to making it right and working hard on solutions.


We want to communicate clearly and in-depth about what's happening with our mobile app so you can be fully informed. While the following message is long, please take the time to read through it so you can be fully aware of the current state of your TimePassages app!


As a team of just eight passionate individuals—connected through both family ties and a shared love of astrology—we’ve poured our hearts into creating and maintaining this app for over a decade. Almost all of us have been here for the majority of our careers (some for over 20 years!), inspired by a shared love for astrology and a dedication to providing high-quality tools to support you in your Astrological studies and personal discovery. This is our first major iPhone upgrade since launching in 2012. While we knew it was a big step, it was necessary for our tiny team to keep innovating, offering you the best astrology experience possible, and continue to be in service to the astrological community.


The excitement surrounding the 3.0 release has been overwhelming—so much so that our servers weren’t quite ready for the surge of users syncing their charts! This led to temporary issues with syncing. To stabilize functionality across platforms, we’ve had to make the tough decision to temporarily disable syncing for iPhone users and pause availability in the Apple App Store. Rest assured, this is only temporary, and we’re working tirelessly to resolve these challenges and bring the features back soon.


To Our Long-Time iPhone Customers:

We appreciate you more than words can express. We’ve offered the same app at the same price for over a decade, and this transition to a subscription model allows us to continue growing, innovating, and delivering features like Solar Returns, Composite Charts, an updated Learning Section, and more. For those who’ve purchased Unlimited Features or the Pro App, we’re honoring your loyalty with a free year of TimePassages 3.0. A free version of the app remains available, with chart purchases starting at just $0.99. Your birth chart, its interpretations, and your Daily Horoscope are always free!


Here’s what iPhone users need to know:

Your charts are safe; just don’t delete the app! Your charts will sync to the cloud once we have fixed the chart sync feature.


What do I do if I deleted the app?  The only way to get your data back is to try restoring old iCloud backups until the data returns.


If I previously bought a $9.99 Upgrade from the Free App or the $29.99 Legacy Pro App, why don’t I see my free year subscription? If you’re eligible for a free year or purchased a subscription but can’t access features, make sure you've downloaded the latest update from the App Store.


When you go through the onboarding process, you will see a purchase pop-up screen with "One Year Free" at the top.


You must select either the Monthly or Annual Subscription option and then click “Upgrade to Pro.” This step is necessary to activate the free-year promotion. While it will ask for your credit card information to set up renewal for the end of the year, rest assured that you won’t be charged during the free year. If you decide not to continue after the free period, you’ll need to cancel to avoid being charged.


Why don’t I see the Pro app or update in the App Store? We paused the rollout temporarily, so only some users with automatic updates may have received it. We will be returning it to the app store as soon as possible.


I am a Legacy Pro App User. What can I expect? We will slowly roll out the 3.0 app to you over the coming weeks. Don’t delete your Legacy Pro App! Once the 3.0 app is available, you will be prompted to migrate all of your charts to the new 3.0 app, you will create an account with a password and email of your choice. and you will receive a free year subscription to honor your Pro status. If you already download the 3.0 app from the app store, you can use it. Don't delete the older TimePassages App. You will need that to migrate your charts when syncing is available.


I am a Legacy Pro App User who updated to 3.0 and started the migration. Why can’t I see my charts in the new app? We’re thrilled by the excitement surrounding the 3.0 release—it’s been incredible! However, the surge of users syncing their charts caught our servers off guard, leading to some temporary syncing issues. To ensure a smoother experience for everyone, we’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily pause syncing for iPhone users and remove the app from the Apple App Store for now.


But don’t worry—this is just a temporary setback! Our team is working around the clock to resolve these challenges and restore full functionality as soon as possible.


In the meantime, please keep your Legacy Pro App installed. Once syncing is back, you’ll receive a prompt to restart the migration process and bring all your charts into the new 3.0 app. Thank you for your patience and support!


Astrology & Timing:

You may be wondering why we chose to launch during some stormy astrological weather. It wasn’t ideal, but after three years of preparation, we couldn’t wait any longer. Sometimes, even challenging transits hold lessons in resilience and growth—something we’re experiencing firsthand! We greatly considered the period of back-to-back personal planet retrogrades (that’s right, Mercury, Mars, and Venus!) from November 25th until early April 2025—and waiting until after that was not an option for us.

Remember that we are just eight humans. It takes time to resolve these fixes, answer questions, and update our communities online. We value your feedback and constructive dialogue, but please maintain a respectful tone in our inboxes and comment sections. Comments containing personal attacks or inappropriate language will not be tolerated. With that said, most of you have been so wonderful and kind. We appreciate your patience and good thoughts through this transition.
