We’re excited to share the latest improvements and updates to TimePassages for Mac! This release includes several bug fixes, interface updates, and new features to enhance your astrological experience.


New Features & Improvements

  • Added ASC and MC interpretations for Solar Return charts
  • New general interpretations for Vertex and Lot of Fortune
  • Added Chiron interpretations to current chart interps
  • Added a "Use birth location" checkbox to the Solar Return Chart location/year selection dialog

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed Astro Clock being 1 hour off for Hawaii
    • Fixed background colors for chart pattern and planet panels not working
      • If any unintended colors show up in either of the two chart window side panels, Patterns Panel or Positions Panel, these can be adjusted by referencing TimePassages > Settings (or TimePassages > Preferences) > Chart Colors;  there adjust color or Reset.
  • Fixed Midpoints report using wrong glyphs
  • Fixed incorrect/misleading labels in aspect intensity settings
  • Fixed Vertex still showing up in Progressed Planets list
  • Fixed interpretation of the square between Venus and Mercury being incorrect
  • Fixed Triwheel aspects drawn incorrectly when "middle wheel planets to natal" is selected

New Features & Enhancements

At launch, TimePassages now detects outdated sample charts and prompts the user to update them.


Fixes & Improvements

  • ASC sign-based interpretations now consistently appear on Mac.
  • Improved defaulting to Porphyry house system for charts with extreme polar latitudes
  • Improved enforcement of demo mode restriction that allows only sample charts to be opened
  • Sample charts missing file extensions (e.g., Edgar Cayce) now corrected.
  • Charts using undefined house method now work correctly. Affects charts like JFK, Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy.
  • Sample charts with time zone errors (e.g., Joni Mitchell displaying MDT instead of MWT) now show correctly.
  • Fixed a bug where planets may sometimes overlap the house cusp lines.

New Features & Enhancements

  • North and South Node Interpretations: We added aspect interpretations in natal charts for planets with the Lunar Nodes.
  • New Settings Option: A new “Calculation Options” section in the Settings menu, for settings that used to be in the Interpretations Options; now easier to find preferences.
  • Special Reports Section: A new “Special Reports” subtitle now appears under the Display menu, renamed from “Reports” which was ambiguous.
  • Minor Aspects Added: We’ve expanded our aspect library to include Bi-Septile, Tri-Septile, and Novile aspects.
  • Improved Manual: The Table of Contents in the built-in manual is now clickable for faster navigation.
  • Neptune in Aries: The missing interpretation for Neptune in Aries in the Current Chart has been added.
  • Moon Phase Report: Moon Phase report is now available under Display > Special Reports, offering deeper insights into this particular natal chart.


Fixes & Improvements

  • Sidereal Natal Report Crash: Fixed a crash that occurred when generating sidereal natal reports

  • Astrograph License Check: Cleaned up the license check process—now using secure HTTPS and removed unnecessary “www” from the URL.

  • T-Square Interpretation Restored: T-square interpretations are no longer missing
  • Aspects to Lunar Nodes: This setting is now turned on by default, allowing you to see aspects to the nodes and also their interpretations that have been added.
  • Consistent Aspect Orbs: Standardized default aspect orbs between Mac and Windows for a smoother cross-platform experience; defaults for some of these orbs have changed.
  • Progressed Vertex Fix: The progressed Vertex is now properly disabled in transits and progressions.
  • Grid Print Fix: Temporarily disabled printing for the Aspect and Declination Grid.

New Features & Enhancements

  • TimePassages is Now a Universal App! The TimePassages app now runs natively on both Intel and Apple M-series chips (M1, M2, M3, etc.).
  • No need for Rosetta! This update also resolves certain startup crashes on Apple Silicon devices.
  • North and South Node Interpretations: We added aspect interpretations in natal charts for planets with the Lunar Nodes.
  • Easier Single Planet Aspect Selection: Cmd-Click on a planet now directly activates Single Planet Aspect mode, highlighting aspects to only that planet. As previously, this feature is also available under Display > Single Planet Aspects, which puts the Single Planet feature into hover mode. Hover mode lets you move the mouse over different planets until left-clicking locks in your selection.
  • New Half-Day Animation Step: A new animation step allows you to move half a day forward or back, flipping AM or PM to reverse if using a 12-hour clock; in other words, adds or subtracts 12 hours.
  • Shortcut: Cmd-3 or Opt-Cmd-3
  • Automatic Software Update Notifications: The software now automatically checks for updates on startup. You can also manually check for updates in the TimePassages menu.
  • Moon Phase Report Added: Moon Phase report is now available under Display > Reports, providing deeper insights into this particular entail chart.
  • Updated Online Manual: The Help > Online Manual now correctly directs users to the latest online version instead of a local file. The Desktop Manual 2025 has been added for reference.
  • New Font for Clearer Astrology Symbols: The new TimePassages font is now the default, replacing CelesteAG. This improves the clarity of astrology symbols across the software.
  • New Chart Color Options: A new color palette has been introduced with an option to use muted chart colors for a softer look.
  • Improved Aspect Descriptions: The Aspect Orbs dialog clarifies that “inconjunct” referencing the 150-degree aspect can also be termed “quincunx”.
  • Aspect glyphs have been adjusted without color to stand out better from aspect lines.

Fixes & Improvements

  • Improved Default Location Behavior: The Default Location in Settings is now automatically applied to Solar, Lunar, and Planetary Return Charts, as well as Progressed Charts.
  • Corrected Intercepted Sign Labels: When “Rimmed Sign on House Labels” is disabled, intercepted signs now display correctly.
  • Fixed Element & Mode Scores: Corrected calculations for non-quadrant house systems.
  • Clearer Error Message for Demo Mode Charts: If you try to open a chart in Demo Mode, the message now clearly explains that only Sample Charts can be opened.
  • Better Update Download Guidance: When clicking Download Now, a helpful message now guides users on where to find the downloaded file.
  • Fixed “Save Graphic” Feature: The Save Graphic function now properly captures the entire chart.
  • Improved Bi-wheel Proportions: The center area of bi-wheels is larger for better aspect line visibility.
  • Improved Spacing of chart circles, glyphs, and position text: Adjusted spacing of circles for all Display Options for better readability.
  • Improved Single Planet Aspect Controls: Cmd-Click now properly toggles single planet aspects on and off. No second click is required.
  • Improved Aspect Options Response: Changes made in the Aspect Options menu now immediately reflect in the displayed chart.
  • Astro Clock Time Fix: The Astro Clock was previously off by one minute—this has been corrected.
  • Fixed Daylight Savings Time Errors: Hong Kong (1987 on) and Baghdad (1990s) now correctly apply DST rules.
  • Fixed Planet Glyph Collisions: In certain situations there were glyph collisions — now corrected.
  • Gaza City Now Listed Correctly: The city was previously listed as Ghazzah in the Atlas — it is now added as a city under Palestine.
  • Fixed Rounding Error in House Minutes: House minutes were being rounded up — this has been corrected.
