The desktop software differs from the iPhone/iPad apps and does not sync. Any charts you enter into one must be re-entered into the other. The desktop software offers many more features than the iPhone/iPad apps and doesn't require the internet to run.
You can download the Free app for iPhone or the Pro. With the Free app, you can purchase individual charts for 99 cents or pay $9.99 to receive unlimited upgrades. With the Pro, you pay a one-time fee of $29.99 to get unlimited charts.
